San Clemente Palace Hotel & Resort 5*, Venice, Veneto
Large, generously lighted spaces and delightful nooks, haute cuisine, wellness, exclusive shopping and relaxation on the lush green island of San Clemente, with San Marco directly opposite and a thousand details of warm, reserved hospitality, to welcome the most demanding guests in the unique splendour of Venice.
The island of San Clemente.
The island of San Clemente, a pearl of the Venetian lagoon, is situated in a peaceful but strategic spot, right in front of San Marco. The free shuttle service that accompanies the San Clemente Palace’s guests from and to Piazza San Marco follows a fascinating itinerary. After leaving Piazza San Marco the boat passes by San Giorgio, grazes Giudecca and then hugs San Servolo. Passengers get a view of the oldest side of the island, with the Church of San Clemente and its parvis, before reaching the entrance of the resort, where the shore porter is there to welcome them.
The San Clemente’s rooms.
The San Clemente Palace accommodates in its 200 rooms and suites, majestically furnished and characterised by different decor motifs:
- The Nobles: these elegant, refined rooms hark back to the sumptuous, refined style of the houses of the Venetian nobility.
- The Doges: rooms where one can still breathe the rich austerity of the times when the Doges were at the height of power in Venice.
- The Merchants: precious fabrics, elegant accessories and sumptuous furnishings express all the magnificence, eclecticism and wealth of the trade with the Orient.
- The Navigators: cool, sober rooms inspired by the sea-farers who set sail in search of themselves and eagerly returned to the comforts and security of home.
Rooms for non-smokers and disabled guests are available.
Restaurant
Venice à la carte. In the spaces of the old Camaldolese monastery, alongside the Renaissance church, stands Ca’ dei Frati, the exclusive gourmet restaurant of the San Clemente Palace. The exquisite delicacies of a refined cuisine d’auteur. The soft lighting, the sparkling crystal, the crimson and gold finishings. The lagoon spread out before one’s eyes as if one might reach out and take it in hand... A dream to live with the eyes and savour with the palate, in the elegant privacy of its facilities.
It is open for dinner from 8.00 p.m.
It is closed on Sunday and Monday and all January.
The large, centuries-old park contains a Beauty & Wellness Club, tennis courts, a scenic outdoor swimming pool, and a pitch & putt golf course to offer the hotel’s exclusive clientele a chance to unwind in contact with nature.
The San Clemente Palace is a few minutes away by motorboat from San Marco Square square (10 min). A shuttle service from and to San Marco Square, on elegant wooden boats, is provided by the hotel round the clock.
From there, Venice’s major museums can be reached either on foot, in vaporetto or by taxi. A gondola ride is the most romantic and “Venetian” way to appreciate the city’s artistic splendour and immense historical heritage. Venice is an infinite storehouse of masterworks of art and architecture to discover.
